Dorothy Vaio | 95
Dorothy Vaio is a San Francisco native. Her biggest commute was when she went daily to Berkeley for college, taking a train that used to go over the Bay Bridge. She came back to San Francisco State University for a masters in education. She was an educator in San Francisco’s public schools for decades, a principal of an elementary school, and a dedicated fundraiser for the schools for years. Dorothy is particularly proud of having set up a scholarship in the memory of a colleague and friend, Mayme Chinn, for students at SFSU going into elementary school education. She is also a traveler and someone who sees “every day as an adventure”.
