Dorothy Lathan | 89
Dorothy Lathan worked in the San Francisco Unified School District for over 30 years and retired as a principal. She moved with her husband and children from St. Louis in the 1950s and built a life and family life she is very proud of. Dorothy and her husband have done so much for the city. Both have been civically and politically active their whole adult lives, especially for the rights of African-Americans and women. In addition to the perspective she shares from watching the issues of race and power play out in her lifetime (she was born in raised in a town named after the first KKK Grand Wizard), she shares gems about how to approach life in general. With her husband, she has led a very active life, been on dozens of cruises, to every continent, and they still made the time to dance in their living room together often. For her “movement is medicine”.
