Annie White | 83

Annie White is an organizer and leader, after the homegoing of her dear friend Beverly Taylor, of the Network for Elders, which supports older adults in the Bayview and Hunters Point. She is compassionate, driven by her concern for others, and as a mother and grandmother (and recent great-grandmother), also strict. She wants her family to be disciplined and respectful. Annie was raised in Alabama and came in 1960 for more opportunity, ultimately getting a degree in teaching and working for the San Francisco Unified School District for 35 years. Annie loves the diversity of this city and how much there is for older people. It should be said that one of the reasons that there is so much support out there is Annie’s own good work in the community.
