Ernestine Moore | 82
Ernestine Moore was born and raised in New York and came to San Francisco after the 1989 earthquake to live closer to her son. She credits her education as a nurse as giving her options and independence in life, and it allowed her to make a life for herself here. She enjoys talking to kids at events for students so she can tell them the importance of an education.
In this interview, when we talk about her early life, Ernestine talks about sexual abuse she suffered as a child. This may be very difficult for some to listen to and we want you to be aware before listening.
Ernestine said sharing this part of her past has helped her and she hopes it may help others, too.
