Pat Jones | 82

Pat Jones came to San Francisco when she was 24 years old from London, with a brief stop in New York. She left to get away from her “dysfunctional family”, and once settled in San Francisco, she started working for non profit agencies. She went on to get a Masters in Rehab Counseling, and after over 40 years working in that field, retired at 72. She has worked in programs that have provided services in many different ways for older people and those with disabilities, such as housing, day programs, and caregiver support. She still works part-time for Senior and Disability Action. As someone dealing with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, she gives advice that “if you want to live and you want to do some of the things that you want to do, you have to understand your limitations.”
